Abstract Across the globe, movements are confronting states and elites, challenging inequalities mobilising for greater justice, a stronger voice, progressive policy changes. In this article, I bridge divide between Social Policy interdisciplinary field of Movement Studies. examine how why social movements, as actors in fields movement theories, matter policy. argue that research on engagement with theories can open new horizons by advancing our understanding politics from global perspective strengthening analytical explanatory frameworks agency, ideas, power study continuity change
